Oh hey, high five, fellow first-time SMT Nocturne player! o/ I just got it recently and am really enjoying it as well. Sounds like I'm slightly further in than you, but still early days as well--can confirm that yes, the difficulty does start spiking a bit a little further on, though. 😅 I've only died a few times so far but I'm having to pay much closer attention than I was at the start.
I still have to finish watching Good Omens. Am two episodes in and love it; the difficulty is that I am currently housesitting for my parents, and my mother's giant schnauzer has Opinions about television, particularly television with animals in. So she goes a bit berserk every time Dog turns up, and her life's disrupted enough without my mum around that I don't really want to shut her in a crate while I watch TV. (I, um, had a unicorn in my party in Nocturne who has been temporarily taken out of my party for the same reason. 😆 They do not at all have to be real animals, apparently, or even particularly well animated animals.) But yeah, there was clearly a lot of love put into the adaptation, which makes me happy. I'm really looking forward to watching the rest.
